yozz ppl.. im back...
my long awaited OFF day is finally here.... though its ending soon *looking at the clock*
i guess u guys sd be wondering how i m coping wif my job rite?
well heres a summary of it...

1stly, let me introduce my colleagues.
Fifi, a malay, is the In-Charged.
the second incharged is Madiana, also a malay.
then there is Shu Mei, who is leaving soon (she is frm Serangoon JC, gng to Uni)
there is Jenny, a malaysian, who has been working for nearly 3 mths. still waiting to be confirmed.
all my colleagues r rather nice ppl... quite easy to get along wif them.

so far, i had worked morning shift, afternoon shift and morning til 9pm shift.
Full day still havent kena.
For morning shift, its best if u reach by 9.30am. becoz the shop is usually opened by then (for staffs only)
then u need to change, get ready before 9.45am. if u punch ur card after 9.45, u will be considered late! What the ****!
then u need to clear the rubbish, throw them near a lift which is for the delivery of the goods. (quite a long way from the shop)
after that, still got to tidy up the shop a bit, like folding clothes, wiping mirrors, etc.
shop is then opened by 10am.
then some1 from the shop needs to go to the bank to deposit the earnings of yesterday.
so far, i've only been asked to go once.
For afternoon shift, after the shop is closed at 10pm, u need to vacuum the floor, get water & mop the floor. sounds like maid yar?
then when everything is done, its usually bout 10.45.

and did i mention that i need bout 1 hour 15 to 30 mins for travelling?? like gng to sch arh...
just that this time is straight bus... but still need to take the usualy 358 to interchange.
the bus passes by TP. so envy ppl who r still schooling.. =(

1 place i hated the most is the store room. this is where all the stocks r placed.
i had so many minor accidents there. knock here, knock there.. got a few bruises on my leg liaoz...
coz we need climb up stools to get new pieces for customers and to shelf back some of the clothes.
1 slightly more serious accident i had is caused by a jacket. i was serving this customer and she wants to try this particular jacket.
so i had to unbuttoned the buttons to take out the hanger. in my haste, the button (which is very thin), poked inside my thumb nail!
damn pain arh.. then bleeding somemore. and i still had to act like nuthin happen and continue serving the customer. haiz.. so sway!

then this company is super stingy!~
lunch is 1 hour, but if i went back late for 1 minute, its considered late and u wun get the $220! (we need to punch in & out for lunch time as well)
i din know bout this until my colleague told me.. haiz! like kena cheated.
btw, the $220 is for staffs who nv take any MC & is nv late for work. pls loh..
ppl sick also cannot.. dun have to be so mean rite!~
besides we always nv go home on time 1...

then got 1 more thing to complain.. this company is also quite strict..
cannot put nail polish, need to tie hair, cannot wear accessories other than silver..
siao! so i dun bother to wear accessories liaoz.. since i dun like silver...
then last weekends, the Area Manager came down to the shop for field coaching. she is a hong konger.
and i absolutely cannot stand her... 1stly, she got this qian bian look, 2ndly, her english & chinese sounded really terrible.
she said my uniform sd be ironed properly... then she asked "Can your lipstick be redder?"
i smile & nodded my head.. but deep inside i was actually saying "Who cares?" hahah.. oops..

i think the little perks of my job is meeting different kinds of ppl everyday.
although it is tiring to shout "Hello, welcome to Wanko" everytime a customer comes into the shop and to tell them about the promotions that we r having.
some customers r really nice ppl.. can chit chat wif them...
of coz there r some who got attitude problem lah... and some r really nasty... wanna try this & try that but dun wanna buy 1...
last sunday i got a shock arh.. got 1 big fish! a lady and her 2 frens actually spent bout $2000 + !!!
i really wonder what they buy leh... hahaha
but thanks to her.. we may reach our target soon.. that means more $ ..

another perks will be trying the clothes there. we can feel free to try the clothes when there r no customers.
this is actually to giv ourselves a better idea on the cutting. its useful when we need to recommend clothes to customers.
so far i had tried on a few... not bad lah.. except i think that the pants cutting dun really suit me.

yesterday, business not gd.. but quite relaxed coz the incharged is not around. only got Madiana, Jenny & me. so we eat snake a bit..
Jenny went to buy a tub of ice-cream and the 3 of us eat until shiook. of coz when customers cum, we got serve them lah...
actually through toking wif them these days.. i realised that im quite fortunate.. coz they had quite a hard life, esp. Madiana.
and the funny thing is that we use 3 languages to communicate.
Jenny & Madiana tok in Malay. (Jenny is malaysian.. remember)
i tok to Jenny in Chinese.
Madiana and i tok in English.
impressive rite?? hahahah

i really learnt a lot of things in this job. its truely a gd experience for me.
but yes.. i wun work for long coz i dun like this company. haha
seriously i think most of the clothes here r not very nice.. and yet the price is so high!
example, 1 of the new arrivals is a knited spaghetti top.. design wise, i giv 2 out of 10. material wise, i giv 7 out of 10.
so the top still fail leh.. haha..
but it actually cost $59!!! who will buy?? not 1 in the right mind i guess... =X
ok lah.. maybe onli those tai tai will consider. but for me, even if its free i also dun wan.

well, i've been having lunch & dinner alone these days.. so lonely.. hahaha
and my eating hours is different everyday.. i knw its normal for this kind of job..
jus hope i dun kena gastric pain....

anyway, for now i will try hard to meet my personal target so that i can get xtra cash. current sales quota is quite ok for me lah.
coz sometimes they got help me.
and hey, i did managed to persuade customers to buy 1 ok.. haha.. dun play play!
but they r those nicer customers lah... those nasty ones.. still cant really handle.

sales job that involves a big shop doesn't just mean standing for long hours.. there is much more responsibilites..
and it makes things worse when there r many outlets.. haha
always compare the sales quota between outlets.

okie.. i shall stop here.. hope u ppl wun hav too much difficulties understanding wat im complaining becoz i write whatever that comes to my mind..
will tok in details when u guys see me in person...
oh btw, my legs got muscle liaoz leh.. hahah

i pray that the SARS thingy will be over soon... its so scary..

so many things happened in the world lately.. the 2 hot topics would be :
1stly, war has finally began.. as expected.. hope Iraq will not use chemical/biological weapons..
2ndly the SARS r really spreading very rapidly with a total of 31 cases here.
and why do the government still say that there is no need to panic?? must we only panic when some1 dies from it? *personal opinion*
haiz.. i think the world is really cuming to an end soon... r we prepared for it?

yesterday met up wif jasmine, siying & siling for dinner.. becoz i think it will be rather hard to meet them once i start working.
we went to pasta cafe at Taka. food is rather okie.. not too bad...
so fast... today is my last day of freedom.. hahah.. feeling rather nervous liaoz.......

I hate lizards� I really do.. and I mean it
All thanks to the baby lizard.. it was hiding under the box of washing powder.
Both me & the lizard received a tremendous shock when I lifted up the box.
And guess wat� its�s tail actually came off~!!!
I stayed in the toilet until my dad came into the kitchen and removed the super disgusting moving tail away for me.
Sigh~ maybe I shouldn�t have chosen to do my laundry tonight.

Okie.. this is another latest news. I got a job!~
Veeko has decided to hire me as the Sales Associate. Sounds nice? Actually it�s the same as Sales Assistant lah.
Kinda surprised they actually hired me.
Im starting work this cuming Friday, under 3 months probation, at XXX outlet.. haha
Din wan to let u all knw where im working at yet� besides I may be transferred to another outlet.
The working hours is rather long. 6 days per week.
The morning shift is 10-8; afternoon shift is 12�10.
and on days where I got to do whole day shift, it will be from 10-10.. boy!~
Think I will have a hard time getting used to standing for such a long time.
And hopefully the uniform wun be too ugly.. hahaha

Im feeling excited & nervous bout this job.
Excited becoz I�ve never done any sales job be4. Nervous becoz I dun knw if im up to this job.
I think many of u will be surprised that I took on this job.
Im surprised myself too.. I just felt that this is a good chance for me to learn something and hopefully, I can be a more approachable person later.
Just see how things goes�. Anyway if im not able to reach the sales quota, I will also have to leave.. ahaha
1 thing that im sad about is my weekends.. they r all gone..
cant go out wif frens that easily liaoz.. =(
now I really knw wat �u gain some; u lose some� means..

okie.. meantime I shall just enjoy & relax.. be4 Friday comes..

guess wat... i went for 2 interviews today!

the 1st one was a designer post for FOH FOH Co. Pte Ltd. heard of it??
anyway this company nature of business is import/export, wholesale of household plastic wares. (kinda reminds me of my previous job at SUN Micro. haha...)
this company is situated at No. 2 Pandan Ave. yes!~ its tat far! took the MRT to Clementi station then still need to tranfer bus 78.
sounds like gng back to sch ya?

the place is quite ulu loh.. those industrial area.. kinda expected already.. so was still quite ok.. in fact i think it seem better than the place tat Eda used to work.
the security system here seem to be rather tight. u need to sign in & sign out as a vistor. but anyway, the security guard is very friendly. he actually asked me if i was here for the designer's post. haha..
erm... u can see many half-naked guys here~ hahah... relax.. they r those doing the delivery/packing of goods, etc.
but i did see quite a few guys who r around my age (not those half-naked ones lah) and r not bad looking leh.. oops!~ =)
anyway, i was led into the building and was given an application form to fill in. u knw wat, the form still got typo error one.. alamak~
after filling the form, i still need to go up to the 2nd storey & wait outside the interview room.
a ger was already there.. she got those big portfolio file... c liaoz damn sianz.. ahaha.. coz i already knw my chances r very low. (i only got cd-rom)
quite a few ppl came for the interview. but not all r vying for the position of designer.
bascially, i spent 80% of my time waiting. my interview time was set at 10 am. but the boss said he had to meet a guest.. so ask us to wait.
so there i was.. waiting patiently while controlling my urge to go to the toilet.. hhaha.. torture...

the interview was rather okie.. the boss is a nice person.. the interview became less formal gradually and we actually communicate in chinese later.
after showing him my portfolio, he asked me a few qnz and briefly told me bout the job scope, which was mainly helping them to design catalogues & maybe create a website. he said that they r willingly to teach me some of the things.. the most important thing is whether i have any interest in the job.
he asked me if cuming to the company is difficult, since i was staying so far away. then we also chatted bout how bad the current economy is... hahaah..
hmm.. so far so gd loh. anyway this is just the 1st round of the interview. too many ppl applied for tat post..
so if im shortlisted, i will need to go for another round of interview.. which i think will be a tougher one.. haiz..
(btw, when i left the building, its 11.45 !! even the security guard said i took very long.. hehe)

the 2nd interview i went for, is the Sales Associate post for Veeko. saw the ad in the papers this morning and decided to give it a try. (its a walk-in interview)
so i just walked in the Veeko outlet at Tampines Mall and asked 4 the interview.
"r u above 18?" was the 1st qn one of the sales associate asked. haha... do i look like im below 18??
once again, i had to fill up the application form. i was then interviwed by the Assistant Area Supervisor. she is a friendly & frank person.
she told me all the negative stuffs in Sales... she said its stressful becoz i need to reach a certain target of sales of every month.
its also very tiring becoz of the long hours and i gotta stand the whole day. well, she just want me to be mentally prepared..
she also asked me qnz like how will i go about to reach my sales target, how will i compete wif the other Sales Associates, etc....
tough qns for some1 who dun hav any experience in sales... *sweat*
but i still enjoyed the interview session becoz she made it very informal. just like chatting wif a fren.. (chatting in chinese again) hahah...
after the interview, she gave me her namecard & said she will let me knw by Sat, if im shortlisted.

i think im very lucky today.. no mean interview sessions... onli nice ppl who i ended up chatting wif.. thank GOD!~
and i did gain some precious experience throughout the interview sessions.
so right now i shall just wait & see... Sat sd hav all the answers...
til then... =)

I went to Sentosa wif my frens on sat. We took the ferry becoz cable cars a bit too expensive.. Hopefully next time can go by cable.. kinda forgot how it feels like to be able to enjoy the scenery from above. =)

Our 1st destination was to Palawan Beach. The original plan was to spent our whole afternoon there before heading to S.E.A. Village Restaurant for dinner and then to the Musical Fountain.
But alas... just as we were bout to begin our fun, it RAINED!!!! Oh my!~ how "fun" it was... and my plan to get tan was ruin once again. so sad!
We gave up waiting for the rain to stop after bout an hour. It was pretty meaningless to just sit there and wait, so we took the monorail and "tour" around sentosa while deciding where to go.

Our 2nd destination was to the Underwater World. It was a pretty nice experience.. kinda refreshed my memories. There was this "touch pool" whereby ppl can get to touch the fishes. I wanted to touch those fishes very much but somehow I lack the courage to do so. Maybe becoz I imagine too much... kinda puts me off.
However, I did touched the starfish.. only after Siling did so... haha.. Its texture is very rough, like touching a rock/stone.
We moved on and saw many nice and even weird looking fishes.

Quite a few left a deep impression (the sea horses, jellyfish, stonefish, dugong) which i wanted to share wif u guys...
If u see a sea horse, u may think its cute, pretty or jus plain funny. But when u see them in groups, it becums a bit gross! haha.. personal opinion lah..
The jellyfish is really very kewl.. wif the lighting effects, u can actually see them glow... Then there is the stonefish.. oh my!~ so ugly!! hahaha...
din really mean to criticise but erm... really not nice loh

Lastly, there is this dugong (aka seacow) which is said to be the most possible creature to be mistaken as a mermaid. Basically its the way she swim and the tail tat looks like the mermaid.. face wise.. err... eeeeeeee
But she is very cute.. becoz we realised she likes to "bang" her nose against objects. Dunno y she did tat though.
u might be wondering y i use words like "she" & "her". Well, simply becoz.. her name is GRACIE !!! Y tat name?? coz me to be "suan" by my frens.. hehe

After that, we went to the Dolphin Lagoon to see the pink dolphins. We waited for a long time as the performance was delayed due to the heavy rain.
Din get a gd view too becoz there were many tourists and all the gd seats were taken. But basically the show was nice. the dolphins r really clever and cute.
They did many stunts like hitting the ball wif their powerful tail & jumping through the hula hoops. A pity i din get to take photos of them.
Just for ur info, these pink dolphins r not totally pink. In fact, they r grey in color like normal dolphins when they r born. They only turn pink as they grow... kewl rite!~

After the show, we went to have our dinner buffet at S.E.A. Village Restaurant, which was overlooking the Keppel Straits and harbour.
The atmosphere of this restaurant was really gd.. it was very relaxing as u get cool wind blowing at u. Its kinda romantic too.. hee... =) I think its a nice place for couples to have dinner here..
The food here is rather gd... let me roughly list out the food we had tat night.
There is chicken rice (though the tray for the chicken is always empty, u have to be quick), bee hoon, toufu, vegetables, fried crabmeat, sambal fish, mussels, lobster porridge, sponge cakes, agar agar, pineapple tarts..
oh... feeling hungry now..
Anyway, for those who r gng to Sentosa, I think u can try eating there.. really not bad..

After a hearty meal, we went back to Palawan Beach. by then the rain had stopped.
We crossed the suspended bridge to the opposite islet, which is the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia. Then we went up to the the highest level of the viewing tower and played wif some of the fireworks tat serene brought. Cant really enjoy the view as it was too dark.
Thus we went back to the beach to use up the remaining fireworks & candles. We formed a heart shape on the sand wif them.Rromantic sia.. heehee
Had a hard time getting the candles light up as the wind was rather strong. We also wrote "Dao Ci Yi You" with our initials and footprints and surround them wif the fireworks.
a nice sight.. but the words could not be seen clearly in the pics..

okie.. thats basically my whole day adventure at Sentosa.

there is an active & irritating lizard in my house. super irritating becoz it not only moves
on the wall, ceiling, but also on the floor.
can u imagine how gross it is if u happen to step on it ??? YUCKS!~
and i nearly stepped on it this afternoon. it was on my kitchen floor.
glad i managed to brake and stepped back... else i think i will scream like mad.
and luckily i got bedroom slippers.. so i'll be wearing them.. jus in case..

y this sudden tok about lizards?? becoz im SCARED to death...
was so frightened tat i din dare to vacuum the floor today.
becoz it was hiding near the vacuum cleaner..
sigh!~ y cant it get out of my house? or jus hide at some place & dun cum out??
at least dun let me see it???
gosh!~ i pray that it will be gone tmr.. give me a break..

had a large bruise on my left knee... think i hurt myself while cleaning the toilet today.. ouch!~
and oh.. i watched the prelude to Miss Universe 2003.
Poppy Tan, 1 of the finalist, is from the same sec sch as me..
happy tat she got into the semi-finals as i think she is 1 of the few pretty and confident ones...
hope she can get into the finals as well..

think sometimes they gave u more problems.. maybe my aunt jus din hav much luck....

yesterday i met up wif jie jie, siling & serene.
we went to this place called Music Underground (a pub) near Lido. quite a nice place. they got this small buffet dinner and free flow of drinks(but not all kinds) from 6-9 pm for members. jie jie had the membership card & for additional guest.. got to pay $25.. anyway i just spent $10 for the whole thingy.. kewl rite!~
but this is only for the 1st & last monday of each month.

basically the food tasted ok... not really interesting stuffs. maybe becoz the main aim to this place is to drink... not eat!
i cant believe i actually had a total of 6 glasses of alcoholic drinks last nite.
i had 1 Vodka Lime, 1 Vodka 7-Up, 1 Vodka Orange, 1 Burbon Coke & 2 Gin Tonic.
i also tried Brandy Coke, Vodka Ribena, Rum & Long Island Tea.
after that headache arh.. though still not really high..

the songs they played r mostly 80s songs.. after 9pm.. they changed to dance hits like "Get The Party Started", "That Thing You Do".
then things start to heat up as ppl stared dancing at the dance floor... and a few of them look like they r really high...
i think the hottest part will the "Bikini" performance. woohoo..
got a group of pretty gers wearing bikini wif knee-high boots.. dancing so sexily.. who can resisit.. hahaha and my!~ their figure damn gd....

oh i must mention this really nice person.. hahah.. his name is andy.
think he is from the same sec school as serene... but different batch.. maybe even younger than me...
anyway we got a lot of peanuts and ice cubes from him... its like watever we need.. just ask him & he will bring it to us.
its nice to have some1 who served us specially.. =)

we left bout 10.30.. and guess wat, i actually went hm by train... heehee..

p.s. (really quite like that place... so nxt time if u all gng.. must ask me along~! )

today im supposed to stay at hm & do housework but then decided to go out wif jasmine.... coz its kinda bored
while the main aim is to accompany jas to buy her stuffs, i myself did spent quite a lot today too... sigh!~ this always happens when im out..
okie.. i bought a necklace (really couldn't resist it),
2 pairs of socks (i consider this as a need) and a CD (BOA - Valenti).
and i saw a wallet from Esprit.. the design is pretty much the same as the 1 im using now.. but really like it.. reddish maroon in colour..
and did i mention.. it cost $69 !!! haiz... think it will be under my "Dream List" for now.. heehee

BOA - Valenti is quite a nice cd (personal opinion). so for those who wan me to burn for them (elin.. heehee..) pass me ur CD-R.

YEAH!~
i've done final touches to this blog.. been trying the whole day to get the images to display properly...
